McCall's 7160 - Easy knit dress!

Yes indeed, this is the dress I am working on today and it is easy. It really easy!! The skirt is made up of 2 circles cut on the fold, 1 back piece cut on the fold and 1 front piece cut on the fold (it suppose to be cut 2, but why? for shaping?) and 1 piece for the tie belt. It a pullover dress and you can't beat that. Here is the link of for more info of the dress that will become a fall favorite for me. I chose a this  ITY knit fabric from Fabric Mart during one of the email notification and didn't go overboard at all. I'm still stashing busting but I could pass this fabric up at the great price they were offering. Isn't that how we get in trouble, lol! Sooo I am going to get me sewing on. I will back back to share the end results and to share the pants I sewed up yesterday. Yes, you read that correctly. I made three pair of pants from my favorite McCall's 6901 pants pattern. I went down a size and they still turn out perfect every time.

"Sew it goes...."

So today is a lazy day for sewing. I have completed my black pants I mentioned here . Finished up a new skirt from this pattern here , I stitched up view A this time around and started on a stripped top using New Look 6351. Yes, I went against my self-imposed plan of sewing from my stash only because I could not resist the price of the jersey rib knit from Fabric Mart (proof I'm a textile junkie). Good news is, I do have the fabric for the jacket in my stash. Unfortunately resident photographer is busy and this passed work week has zapped some of my energy. I have been sleeping on and off since I go home from work on Friday. I did sew yesterday and finished most of McCall's 6886 , would you believe I ran out thread!! Yeah, I think it time to due a inventory check on the notions. Hey I figured if I have enough interfacing then I'm good, so good figure?! I hope all is well with everyone and create something beautiful this week!

McCalls 6959 -Woven Wrap Dress.

I love this dress!! It's easy to sew, comes together beautiful. So yes, I will brag on myself, I look soooo C-U-T-E in this.  I have coveted this pattern for awhile and every time I went to purchase it, it was never in the bin. Then I finally had it in my hands and it was meant to be. My favorite dress for the summer hands down.                                                                                 @McCalls.com McCall's 6959 is one pattern that is a winner. You can never go wrong with a wrap dress and this one being sewn in a woven fabric is a must have. The sizes range from Misses sizes 6-22 and I stitched this up in size 18.  This was my first time working with bias tape so this was going to be fun. I have a great bias tape pressure foot that made testi...

In the works and catching up....

Wow, it has been a while BUT I have been creating. I'm still pulling from my stash so that a good thing, unfortunately I don't have this or that when it comes to completing my outfits but I digress. Here is one of my favorite dress style. How can you not go wrong with a wrap dress. This is McCall's 6959 Wrap Dress and it is super easy and really, really CUTE!!  As you can see from the pictures I didn't have enough binding so I had to pick up two more packs. I wanted to keep the lines smooth and only connect at the seams when needed. It is finish and I hope to have a pictures wearing it posted soon. I can't wait to make more.  This is another easy pattern,   McCall's. 6563 . I was hoping to have this completed but I don't have any fusible hem tape or spray adhesive for the hems. It requires a narrow hem but because it made in a ITY knit I going to do a half inch hem instead. So items have been added to my list, lol.  Next up will be these two lov...

McCalls 6994 - Completed

This is really cute! I'm glad I selected this knit from my stash. The colors are great for transitioning to fall, it can be dressed up with a jacket and some boots as the weather changes and I love the way it fits! I cut this out in the large which reflect sizes 16-18 which is close to my RTW size. As I continue this journey I am finding out my skirts are not much different from store brought sizes, the only adjustments I have needed to make is to the waist. When I start on my pants that could change! Anyhoo, this pattern is a keeper and it has a lot of potential. See how cute it looks blowing in the wind? It just flows ever so! I have plans in the future to make this in a solid black or green. I already have the perfect shoes to compliment the next one or few. As for my blue pencil skirt  I wanted to sew up next using New Look Pattern 6228 again will be rearrange in the rotation. Unfortunately the stretch piping I ordered got sent to my mother house in Detroit. Whe...
