"Sew it goes...."

So today is a lazy day for sewing. I have completed my black pants I mentioned here . Finished up a new skirt from this pattern here , I stitched up view A this time around and started on a stripped top using New Look 6351. Yes, I went against my self-imposed plan of sewing from my stash only because I could not resist the price of the jersey rib knit from Fabric Mart (proof I'm a textile junkie). Good news is, I do have the fabric for the jacket in my stash. Unfortunately resident photographer is busy and this passed work week has zapped some of my energy. I have been sleeping on and off since I go home from work on Friday. I did sew yesterday and finished most of McCall's 6886 , would you believe I ran out thread!! Yeah, I think it time to due a inventory check on the notions. Hey I figured if I have enough interfacing then I'm good, so good figure?! I hope all is well with everyone and create something beautiful this week!

Simplicity 1810 - Reworked and Completed

When I first completed these pants they were way to big for me and I stitched them based on the hip measurement. Well, that didn't work me, so of course I had to take them apart. Did I want to? Yes, because that is what needed to be done. Did I do it a timely matter? No. I got distracted. I can hear my mother voice now, "Finish what you have first, before you tackle anything else." Well I did and then I finished 3 dresses, 1 skirt and a pair of culottes, which will be showcased soon. What I had to do was cut these baby down to my RTW size 14, then adjust the waist and voila, perfect ft. These were made with Simplicity 1810 , which is a great pattern for easy wardrobe pieces that can be interchanged and worn year around. These pant have elastic waist and are extremely comfortable. I had the material in my stash so the cost was free! Will I be making up more, yes! Especially to go with a few jackets I want to make for the fall. Knitting and sewing and loving everythi...

Everything is Everything!

Although I just started this blog I do miss posting. Good new is that I have been sewing. I re- fashioned a sundress that has been sitting in the back of the closet. Chopped it off and turned it into a skirt. I did finish my navy blue skirt, and I did finish the Barbie Cardigan. So I have been doing "stuff". I will post the pictures soon.  Also things are getting into a rhythm around here. I go back to work on Monday which I am happy about. I can't wait to really get my sewing on! I promised myself to sew more in 2015 and gosh darn it, I am. I have been wanting to make my own bras and Crafty has a class so yeah, I want to do that. I am getting ready to start on 2 pair of pants from Simplicity 1810 shown below.   There are going to be sewn in a woven fabric that I have in my stash. They look easy, quick and comfortable. Basic pants to add to my wardrobe. I envision them being worn quite a a bit too. So let me get started.  Sewing and Knitting and l...
